The Sonepat Urban Co-operative Bank Limited has been reigning over other UCBs in northern region particularly in Haryana State since its inception in August 1961.The Bank has been a light house to UCBs emerged on the scene after 1961.Facing and averting the adverse conditions , specially dense fog of doubt and shaking faith , it has not only emerged out shiningly but also amassed enormous faith of general public. The far sighted vision of two stalwart legends of the society founder Chairman LATE BABU MANOHAR LAL JAIN & founder patron LATE BABU MAHABIR PARSAD JAIN turned into reality with the formidable assistance of 78 founder member.
History of Bank
The Bank formally inaugurated by Sh. V.P. Dhir , I.A.S. , then S.D.M. of sonipat on 15th August 1961.Then the bank started in a rented shop with a share capital of Rs. 23700/-. The Bank constructed its own building in 1979 in New Subzi Mandi , Sonepat. Foundation stone of the Bank Building was laid by the founder patron Late Sh. BABU MAHABIR PARSAD JAINon 30-04-1978 and formally inaugurated by Sh. Balwan Rai Tayal , then Finance Minister Haryana on 29-10-1979. S/Sh. Late Sh. Puran Chand Gupta , Naresh Chand Jain were associated with the bank as staff but Sh. Charan Dass Relan retired and experienced post master remained at helm of the affair as manager between 15th Nov. 1961 and May 1973 .
Then after Sh. Jagan Nath , Sh. Narinder kumar Kuchhal took a leaf from the predecessors and went ahead with all round dynamic progress till 1978. Thereafter Sh. N.K. Jain, holdiing the position of CEO/Manager till 30/6/2012. After that Sh. Ashok kumar kuchchal was the C.E.O w.e.f 1/7/2012. After that Sh. Vinod Kumar Jain was given the officiating charge of C.E.O. w.e.f. 26/07/2013.After that Sh. Rajesh Khanna was given the charge of C.E.O. w.e.f. 01/11/2016. Sh. Rajesh Khanna resigned on 11-08-2017 and Sh. Vinod Kumar Jain was given the charge of officiating C.E.O. w.e.f 12-08-2017 .Now Sh. Satish Kumar Kamboj is appointed as C.E.O. w.e.f 31-07-2018.
The Bank was registered by Assistant Registrar , Cooperative Societies, Sonipat on 29-07-1961 vide no. 408. The Reserve Bank of India granted license U/S 22 of the Banking Regulation Act 1949 for the commencement of Banking Business.
The Sonipat Urban Co-operative Bank Limited is a fast Growing Bank. Number of Members, Share Capital, Deposit and working capital are increasing day by day. Bank does not borrow any type of loan from any government or financial institution. The audit of the Bank is done by chartered accountant, selected / opted out of the penal of chartered accountants duly approved by R.C.S. Haryana. Audit Department has Granted “A” category to the bank which reflects the excellent work of the bank.
